Notes for Edward JONES
The eldest son of Magdalene and Henry Jones but not mentioned in the wills of Mary Lloyd or Ruth Speed, so very likely he is is the Edward Jones buried in Llanfair in 1772.
No sign of marriage in Llanfair before his death.
From the freeholders lists after 1759 it is clear that he took over ownership of the Pentre Cae Heilyn property from his father Henry but also equally clear from the Churchwarden accounts 7 of the same period that he rented out the property and attached land, as he did not pay the parish mise.
It appears that the land was farmed by Richard Parry, previously of Llysifasi, and the largest landowner in Derwen township, after his father Henry left the Parish in 1759.
