Notes for General John Tatton BROWN
Known as the “Father of the Marines”. Served in the Peninsular War with the Royal Navy 1811. Commissioned into the Corps of the Royal Marines, 21st May 1811. Trained at Woolwich. Admitted freeman of Berwick upon Tweed in 1816.
